Narrative essay (II)

An Organization Changes My Character

I was known as quite person since I was in elementary school until senior high school. But when I became a student in faculty of languages and art, an organization in faculty makes me more active, be responsible and be confidence.

It was started in 2013, when I joined an organization in faculty of languages and art. Since then, I became more active in many events that held in faculty such as AKM, social-gathering, so forth. I always became committee in those events. I actively did my job and coordinated it to other committees. As committee, I also attended every meeting that was conducted by the core committee. Even, in big events like AKM (Ajang Kreativitas Mahasiswa) / Students Creativity Site and Social-Gathering, I’ve participated as performer. I performed a drama with all of my friends in theater.

When I became committee. I had my own task (Job Descriptions). It made me be more responsible. When the core committee gave me the list of job descriptions, I made a list of what I should do first. It aimed to make me easier doing my task. Then, in my spare time, like Saturday and Sunday, I prepared it, because some of my tasks were preparing tools and equipment that  were needed in that event. When the event came, I must be responsible for my job. If I should do it, I would do it.

When the event has ended. The core committee invited all committees to attend the meeting to evaluate the event. In this meeting, I got some things that made me confident to talk in front of them. I felt happy talking to the people in organization as they smiled at me. It made me feel confidence to report my job. The other side, being coordinator also required me to report my job. I believe, day by day, I will feel more confident in being committee; I also had a friend who always supported me to report my work. Finally, I confidently talked to them.

Actually, an organization in faculty changed my character. When I was known as quite person since I was in elementary school till senior high school and now I was known as active student. I also being more responsible and confident, because of the job that I got from becoming a committee.

Birthday Surprise

Getting a surprise on our birthday was very amazing and unforgettable moment. So do I, I got my first birthday surprise when I was 14 years old and the surprise was happened in the school. It made me felt so special at that day and I loved my friends so much.

It was in 2008 on May fourth. When I went to school, the stranger things happened. In the class room, no one talked to me during the class. Even I already started the conversation with one of them, but he looked so seriously in reading his book. I looked around the class and I saw all of my friends showed flat face. They looked so serious in learning the lesson. After the class ended, then I went home. On the way home, I felt confuse because no one walked around me. They looked lost. I don’t know what happened to them at that time.

When I arrived in the front of a field near my school, one of my friends approached me and invited me to come in to the field. The surprise was begun. After I was inside, some of my friends gave me a cake with number 14 on it. I was very shocked to see that. Suddenly others friends sang a birthday song to me. I’ve never got birthday surprise before. So this was the first and the best surprise that I got.

After finished to celebrate my birthday, I could see clearly the ways they expressed my birthday. One of them approached me and said “happy birthday” gently. Some girls looked very shy when tried to say “happy birthday” to me. My close friends gave me a trap gift, where that gift contained concrete brick with a cut of paper. Although, I got it, I accept it. They prepared it all just to celebrate my birthday.

It was my first birthday surprise. I always remember it forever. The day when I felt so special and they are really my best friend forever.

My Best Friend

Everybody has friends. With friend, they can share their happiness or sadness. They also can spend their time together with friends. I also have friend. He is my best friend. I learn English together with him and share our experiences. He is my best friend since senior high school. I like the way he chooses English course, I like the way he cares to other, and I like the way he battle for his life.

When we were in senior high school, to be a good at English is our dream. When we were in third grade, he told me about some places that offered English for tourism. He said to me that he confused to choose one of them. He could not decide which one was better. The next morning, he came to me again and brought another pamphlet about cruise line and he took that course to continue his school. In that time, I was thinking that he was really serious to learn more about English.

Besides, he is my best friend, he also cares to others. When his friend couldn’t come to school because of the motorcycle was broken; he will pick him up. In classroom, when I didn’t understand about the topic given by the teacher. He explained it clearly to me. He really knows when his friend need him to understand the topic.

One year ago, he could not continue his study about cruise line because of his disease. His eyes became red and he could not see clearly. Doctor said that his eyes’ artery was swollen. Now, since one year more, he already stays at home without going anywhere. As his best friend, I can’t do anything. I just can visit and accompany him to enjoy his life. He told me that he has accepted what God gives him. He will try to find the alternative way to heal it. He will learn meditation method and yoga.

Well, he is really my best friend. He always inspires me and he gives me something. I like his way to choose his English course. I also like the way he cares to other and he gives me know that we must battle for our life. Although the God gives us disease, we must accept it and try to heal it.

My Beloved Mom

I know that people can’t live alone, they should live with other. That’s why; everybody has their own beloved person. My mother, who is fifty-four years old, told me about her appearance and habit when she was twenty-one years old. For me, my mother is the only one that I loved. I loved her appearance, I loved her habit, and I loved her care.

When she was teenager, she always wore a red gown in her daily activity. Her face is a little bit oval same like my brother’s face. The small beautiful nose plugged in her face. The slightest small lips looked beautiful. I know that when she smiled, she will look more beautiful.  Her hair was softly brown curly. But now, her hair is already straight black short. Brown skin looked so beautiful in her body.

She told me that she loved cooking since she was teenagers. Every day she made some cookies, bread, and other kinds of bakery. Sometimes she made it just for enjoyed together with her family or she sold it. I was thinking that it bees the reason, why I love cooking right now. Cleaned up her house every Sunday was another activity when she lived with her parents. Wiped off the yard, she did it while listening to the radio.

Now, she is already married. She cares with all of her sons. Every day she always prepares food for our lunch after going back from school. Asks her sons’ condition every night is being her habit. Just for knowing what we are okay or not. She also prepares some medicines for influenza or cough; usually my brother easier to get that illness.

Well, mother is the only person who closes by her sons. Her sons will inherit a part of her appearances and follow her habit; even more love her because of her caring. So for me, I learn more from her. I love making cakes; she always teaches me more about that.
